Privacy policy

Your videos and projects stay on your device

You choose videos through Android’s video or document picker. Bitmosh copies selected videos into its private app storage and keeps project settings, thumbnails and temporary previews there. Editing and rendering happen on your device. Bitmosh does not upload your videos or projects to Binaryman or a cloud processing service.

Gallery editing, camera capture, the included demo and rendering work offline. There is no stock-footage service, project-upload feature or app account.

Camera and permissions

• Camera: optional permission for recording clips inside the app. Takes are saved in private project storage. Recording stops when the app leaves the foreground. The alignment guide uses a previous clip’s frame locally.
• Selected videos: Android’s picker gives access to the files you select; Bitmosh does not request broad access to your media library.
• Notifications: optional permission for displaying rendering progress and a cancel action. A foreground service runs the preview or export you requested.

Bitmosh does not request microphone, contacts or location access. Camera recordings and rendered videos are silent. You can change camera and notification permissions in Android Settings.

Exporting and sharing

Exports are saved to Movies/Bitmosh in your device’s gallery. If you tap Share, Android gives the selected export to the app you choose. That app’s privacy practices apply, including any uploads it performs. Bitmosh does not automatically share your projects or original videos.

Accounts, purchases and analytics

This version has no app accounts, ads, purchase prompts, analytics SDK or app-integrated remote crash-reporting service. It does not sell your personal data.

The app includes an inactive Google Play Billing library and an Internet permission. Purchases are disabled and Bitmosh does not initialise or connect that billing integration. Local purchase records from earlier versions, if present, may remain on the device.

Android and Google Play may separately handle installation, updates and diagnostic information according to your settings and their own policies. This policy describes Bitmosh, not those platform services. See Google’s privacy policy.

Storage, retention and deletion

Private project files are stored in Android’s app-specific storage, rather than a developer-operated server. Keep your device protected; this is not a promise of additional app-level encryption.

Projects remain on your device until you remove them. Deleting a project removes its edits and private clips that are not needed by another project. Clearing Bitmosh’s storage in Android Settings or uninstalling it removes its private projects, imports, preferences and caches.

Original gallery videos and exported videos are separate: deleting a project or uninstalling Bitmosh does not remove those files. Delete them using your gallery or file manager. Binaryman cannot recover or remotely delete your on-device projects.

Contact and privacy requests

If you email i.f.lledoux@gmail.com, your email address and the information you choose to send are processed through the email provider to respond to your enquiry. Please do not send private footage unless it is necessary for the help you request.

Correspondence is retained only as needed to handle your enquiry and any applicable legal obligations. You can use the same address to request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent. The app itself has no account to delete.

This policy page and future changes

This page contains no analytics scripts, advertising, cookies or external font requests. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may process technical request information, such as your IP address, to deliver and secure the page. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.

If Bitmosh’s data practices change, this policy will be updated to describe them. The date and app version above identify the policy’s current scope.
